Join us…doing life together

Following Jesus is about building relationships—both with Him and with one another. Through love, support, encouragement, and accountability, we grow in our faith and become who God created us to be.

Church gatherings are an essential part of our Christian life; allowing us to worship, learn and pray as a whole community. However, there are some things that are best done in small groups.

Being part of a small group is one of the most effective ways to grow spiritually, build meaningful connections, and receive support and care. That’s why we encourage everyone to get involved in a small group.

Below are some of our groups - please Connect with us if you would like to be involved or know more about any of our groups.

Life Group Bible Studies

We meet for bible study in various homes and at the church. We meet at different times and days. If you would like to get involved in a group, please let us know via the Connect form or let one of the elders know. We’ll be happy to support you to find a local group that’s right for you.

Men’s Golf Morning

Please join us at 10:00 am on Mondays at Coal Valley Golf Club Richmond. There’s no need to play, you can just enjoy the beautiful course and join the players for lunch. This is a great way for men to enjoy some time outdoors, keep fit and support each other.

Craft for a Cause - Samaritan’s Purse

Tuesdays between 10:00am—1:00pm. Creating and making items for Samaritan’s Purse and other great causes.

We support a range of mission projects through our mission organisation, Global Mission Partners. These include countries such as Zimbabwe, South Sudan, Vietnam, Cambodia, and many others where they have limited resources and when they have been through natural tragedy.  We have also been able to provide support locally during times of hardship such as bushfires, floods, etc.

Senior Moments

You are invited to join with us weekly on Wednesday mornings from 10am – 12pm. We meet to play Scrabble, 500 and a variety of other games over morning tea. We call the group “Senior Moments” – can’t remember why! This is a great way to catch up with friends and make new ones.

Thursday Prayer Meeting

Prayer is the heartbeat of our church, the vital connection between us and God. We recognise that apart from God, we can do nothing (John 15:5). Therefore, we commit to making prayer central in all that we do, seeking God’s wisdom, strength, and blessing.

We meet at the church on Thursdays 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

God has done marvelous things for us in answer to prayer, and some we are yet to see. The timing is up to Him and the trusting is up to us. We still have lots to pray about and whatever we ask He can do, as Paul tells us in Ephesians, "exceedingly above all we can ask or think. "

If you have a prayer need or know of someone who does, please join us. Alternatively, contact one of the elders via email at admin@howrahcofc.org.au or the Connect form.

Men’s and Women’s Lunches

On the last Thursday of each month we meet for a shared lunch at a local restaurant, cafe or venue. We have separate men’s and women’s groups and join together for special events such as Christmas lunch. Transport can be provided. Please contact the church office for details of the location and time. You are welcome!

Sunday Shared Lunch

On the second Sunday of each month we join together after the church service for a time of fellowship over a shared lunch.
